Safety information for G Pen devices
Please read the instructions before first use and keep them. You find a link to the instructions on each product page.
For adults only
- G Pen products are for adults aged 18 or over. Keep them out of reach of children and pets.
- Our products contain no nicotine and are not medical devices. Do not use them to treat any illness.
- Use them only with substances that are legal where you live. Do not use them with tobacco, nicotine or nicotine-containing e-liquids.
Heat
- The heating chamber, coils, tanks and some other parts get very hot during and after use. Do not touch them, and let the device cool down before you clean, refill or store it.
- Do not leave a switched-on device unattended. Switch the device off, and lock it if it has a lock function, before you put it in a pocket or bag.
- Never use the device near flammable materials or gases.
- The G Pen Melt hot knife gets very hot: keep the tip away from your body and from flammable items, and put the protective cap back on only when the tip has cooled down.
Lithium-ion batteries and charging
- Our devices contain lithium-ion batteries. Do not open, crush, puncture, bend or burn the device or the battery, and do not short-circuit the battery.
- Charge only with a suitable USB cable and a certified USB power adapter. Do not use damaged cables or adapters.
- Charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, away from heat, direct sunlight and flammable items. Do not charge under pillows or blankets, and do not leave the device charging unattended.
- Do not leave the device in very hot or very cold places, for example in a car in direct sunlight.
- Keep the device dry. Never soak or immerse it in water or any other liquid.
- Stop using the device and contact us if it gets unusually hot, swells, smells, leaks, smokes or makes unusual noises.
- Do not try to remove a built-in battery yourself.
Glass and quartz parts
- Glass and quartz parts can break. Handle them with care and do not use chipped or cracked parts.
- Clean parts only as described in the instructions, and only when the device is switched off and cool.
Travel
Airlines have rules for devices with lithium batteries. Usually they must travel in your hand luggage, switched off. Check with your airline and the laws of your destination before you travel.
Report a safety problem or an accident
If a G Pen product has caused, or nearly caused, an injury or damage, please tell us straight away at help@gpen.com. Include your order number, the product and what happened.
If we ever need to recall a product or publish a safety warning, we publish it on this page and contact the customers concerned directly, using the details from their orders.
Recycling old devices and batteries
The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on a device, a battery or its packaging means that it must not be put in household waste. Old electrical devices and batteries have to be collected separately.
Why this matters
- Electrical devices and batteries contain valuable materials that can be recycled, and substances that can harm health and the environment if they are not disposed of properly.
- Lithium-ion batteries can start fires in bins, waste trucks and recycling plants if they are damaged or crushed. Never put them in household waste.
- Use your devices for as long as possible and have them repaired where you can. This helps to prevent waste.
What you can do
- Hand in old devices and batteries free of charge at a municipal collection point (recycling centre), or at a shop that sells electrical devices or batteries. Many supermarkets and electronics shops have collection boxes for batteries. Your local council can tell you where the nearest collection points are.
- Our devices have built-in batteries that are not designed to be removed by the user: hand in the complete device. Before you hand in a loose lithium battery, cover its contacts with tape to prevent short circuits.
- You can also return old G Pen devices and batteries to us for recycling, free of charge. Please email help@gpen.com first: we send you instructions and a prepaid label, because lithium batteries may only be posted under special rules.
- Delete any personal settings from a device before you hand it in.
Packaging
Please recycle our packaging using your local collection system: cardboard with paper, and plastic film with packaging waste. Local sorting rules apply.
