Los Angeles was certainly goin' up on a Tuesday this week. Nearing the end of his "Cruis'n USA Tour", Curren$y was kind enough to come thru club Union to show us locals that the day of the week should have no effect on the "turn up" possibilities.
Fresh off the heels of his latest release of The Legend of Harvard Blue mixtape, the NOLA legend easily packed a full house.
Laced in appropriate attire, a classic Magic Johnson jersey, Spitta rocked a vehement set spiced with recent releases down to classic joints like "16 Switches," "Michael Knight" & "Mary."
The crowd was completely unfazed by the swirling thick heat, sticking it out with Curren$y & his microphone 'til the end of the performance.
DJ Duffey holding it down on the 1's & 2's making the scene on stage even that much more beautiful.
The Master of Ceremonies maintained a cool & merry presence under the sweltering heat of the stage lights with a determined layer of sweat on his brow; leading the crowd into acapella versions of his verses to test their knowledge of the intricate lyrics. The crowd did NOT disappoint.
"I’m watchin' Action Jackson in the palace smokin' cabbage. Just relaxin', mixin' hashes till I feel like I know magic..."
A+ night. 10/10 performance. Crowd was definitely at 100% & by the smell of things inside the venue we'd have to wager that there were more than a few G Pens activate throughout the night. ;-) Now go give The Legend of Harvard Blue a listen if you haven't already!
