Grammys Week was in full swing last night as Levi’s hosted the much buzzed about “Snoop and Friends Pre-Grammy Party” at the Hollywood Palladium. Set to feature multiple surprise guests, rumors abounded throughout the day as to who may take part. As both fans and the industry-elite filed into the Palladium, they were treated to the surprise opener, none other than Diplo, who set the mood properly with a raucous set.
Soon after, a massive JACK U graphic appeared behind Diplo as Skrillex emerged on stage. The two proceeded to take the crowd through an electro-infused history lesson in West Coast hip-hop, much to the delight of the now packed LA audience. A live remix of Warren G and Nate Dogg’s Regulators rang out as the building reached capacity.
After Jack U left the now massive crowd completely amped up, it was time for the Doggfather himself to take the stage. Snoop and his live band, 1500 Or Nothing, appeared just after midnight, to none other than a live instrumental rendition of “California Love”. Snoop wasted little time as he broke into all of his classics including Nuthin But A G Thang, Gin and Juice, Gz and Hustlas, The Next Episode, and more. It was not long before the special guests started appearing which included Kurupt, Warren G, Too Short, OT Genasis, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar, Chaka Khan, and more.
To close out the night, Snoop brought out Pharrell to perform their new single “Peaches n Cream” as well as classics such as “Beautiful” and “Drop It Like Its Hot”. Pharrell is responsible for executive-producing Snoop's new album BUSH. As the show wrapped up around 1:45am, with guests such as Daft Punk, Christina Milian, T.I., Tyler The Creator and more watching from the audience…it was clear that Grammy Weekend 2015 has started off with a star-studded bang.
