Monday night we had the privilege to attend the soft opening of Woodley Proper, the second official restaurant by two of our favorite Chefs, Phillip Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee. Phillip is best known as a personality on some of TV's biggest cooking competition shows, including Top Chef and Chopped.
Tucked in the back of Encino Space on the second floor, The Woodley Proper is just a few doors down from Lee's other restaurant, Scratch Bar & Kitchen. They curated a beautiful build out of the space, really executing the bar and lounge style aesthetic.
Our friends Badwood and Food Assassins joined us for the opening.
They started off with the perfectly fitting "Valley Girl" cocktail.
We started with a "Woodley Proper" and some "Honey Fried Stuffed Olives."
Followed by mouthwatering "Dry Aged Prime New York Strips" with a "Russian Style Tomato Salad."
The "Bone In Grilled Salmon" with pickled cucumbers on top of Artisan sourdough toast with a Greek Yogurt spread was amplifying..
But the "Roasted Chicken Demi" with mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli took the prize for most vehemently delectable flavors.

Think of your favorite dessert. Multiply the taste times ten, and then another ten. That would still fall short of the magnitude "Brioche Donuts" with Bergamot whipped cream.
